About the author
The Power of Choice
Treva Brown knows firsthand the impact of trauma and the strength it takes to heal. Having experienced trauma in her teens, she was tempted to stay stuck in the emotional pain and a victim mentality. But in her 20s, she made a powerful choice to surrender her destructive way of life to Jesus Christ and embraced the redemption God offered. She understands the struggle of breaking free from the lies that can chain you to your past, the grit needed to take back control of your present, and the courage to reimagine what is possible for your future.
Today, Treva advocates for health and wellness and teaches the power of renewing your mind with God’s truth as a certified life and health coach. She continues to create a life she is proud of, aiming to exemplify what is possible. On the other side of the pain, she now lives the life of her dreams with her husband of over twenty-one years, their three athletic teenagers who keep the family busy traveling, and her Great Dane, Kramer, who she walks on the beautiful Colorado trails near her home. If she can make the powerful choice to partner with God and create a life she loves, then anyone can.
About the Book
The Power of Choice
At sixteen, Treva Brown lost her mom to the grave and her dad to a life sentence in prison. Seven years after losing her parents, she was stuck in a pit of grief, unsure if she’d ever be able to stop the tears. Believing she was a victim caused her to make one bad choice after another. She could not imagine a future where life was enjoyable and wondered why she was still alive at all. But through divine moments and chance encounters, Treva found the strength to make one powerful choice and the desire to fight for her future. Despite her fears and doubts, she chose to surrender her life into the hands of Jesus Christ and trust God at His word.
Daily, Treva chose to renew her mind with God’s truth and gradually took back control of her emotions and overcame the lies that plagued her—lies that the tragedy was all her fault, that she wasn’t enough, that she would never be okay, and that she was a helpless victim of circumstances. Today, through healing and freedom, she lives a life she loves and inspires others to believe in the possibility of their own incredible future.
